Historic Blacksmith Workshop: Saturdays at Discovery Harbour (May 2 - Sept 5)

Join us for an immersive one-day workshop at Discovery Harbour on the shores of beautiful Penetanguishene Bay (Georgian Bay). Learn historic blacksmith skills alongside blacksmith instructor in a small group setting.

Historic Blacksmith Workshops run rain or shine. We recommend booking your tickets in advance. All ticket sales are final.

Select blacksmith workshops are also offered in French on Sunday, June 28 and August 30.

WORKSHOP INFORMATION

What is included:

A tour of the historic site emphasizing historic trades

A tour of the H.M.S. Tecumseth Centre

Safety briefing

Gloves, safety glasses, heat-proof apron, ear protection

Hands on instruction including blacksmithing techniques

Finalizing your take-home metalworks project

What do participants need to bring?

Steel-toed safety boots or shoes

Brown-bag style lunch

What do participants need to wear?

Shirt: Long-sleeved shirt made from natural fibres such as cotton, linen or wool (t-shirt is acceptable in warm weather)

Pants: full-length pants made from natural fibres such as cotton, linen or wool (shorts are acceptable in warm weather)

Approved Clothing Materials: cotton, linen or wool only
