Thank you for choosing Fort William Historical Park for your camping experience. Please note our Broadway Avenue entrance is open for the season.

Check-in time is 2 p.m. or later. Early check-in may be possible if your campsite is available. The Visitor Centre is open until 5 p.m. If you are arriving later, please proceed directly to your campsite and check-in the following day. The Visitor Centre opens at 9 a.m.

Check out time is 12 p.m. or earlier. If you are staying to enjoy the Park, please relocate to the Visitor Centre parking lot to accommodate the next camper.

One vehicle per site is included in the campsite fee. Additional vehicles must be parked in the Visitor Centre parking lot. Parking is free.

Cancellations and modifications can be made up to 8 days before your reservation date and time at no extra charge through the Park Pass link at the top of this email. To cancel or modify your campground reservation 1 to 7 days before your reservation date and time, please contact Visitor Services by calling (807) 473-2344 or emailing reservations@fwhp.ca. You will be charged one night of camping per site booked.

You Are Responsible. By entering the campground, you, and those for whom you are responsible, acknowledge and accept that Fort William Historical Park and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming are not responsible for any damage or injury sustained to you, a member of your party, or to your possessions while on Fort William Historical Park property. Please exercise caution.

Campsites must be kept clean and free of attractants for wildlife.

Fireworks, firearms, and drone use are prohibited.

Guests are the responsibility of the registered campers within the campsite and are welcome to visit between 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. Guests must park in the Visitor Centre parking lot.

Smoking and vaping are permitted within the confines of your registered campsite and designated areas on Fort William Historical Park property. Alcohol and cannabis consumption are only permitted within the confines of your registered campsite.

Pets are welcome at Fort William Historical Park; however, we ask that you adhere to the following when your pet is on our property:

Pets are allowed at the campground and historic site but must be kept on a leash.
Pets are not permitted inside the Cantine Restaurant, Gift Shop, McGillivray’s Landing, or the Café Kam.
There is outdoor, pet-friendly seating available at the Cantine Restaurant, located on the historic site.
Please clean-up immediately after your pet using a disposable bag and place it in an outdoor waste receptacle.
Service animals are allowed in all places to which the public is admitted.

Quiet Please! Loud noise is not permitted between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Rowdy behaviour, excessive noise, and obscene language is not tolerated at any time of day or night and may result in charges being laid and eviction.

Generators can be noisy and produce harmful fumes. They may not be used during the quiet time, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Please ensure the generator exhaust has plenty of ventilation and is not operating near any sleeping shelters.

Campfires are to be contained in the fire-ring provided. Please do not remove the fire-ring from its original location. Attend campfires, BBQs and fire-rings at all times when in use for safety.

Fire restriction orders imposed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry must be adhered to by all visitors. Fort William Historical Park will provide notice to visitors of any outdoor fire restriction orders that are in place during their stay.

Visit the Fort William Historic Site. Travel back in time to 1815 and discover Fort William. This is the inland headquarters of the North West Company, the world's largest fur trading enterprise with posts stretching across North America. This is a place where cultures meet, and relationships are forged between Indigenous Peoples and non-Indigenous newcomers. Come experience this unique place and time in history through the eyes of peoples past who live and work around Fort William! The Fort William historic site is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EDT). Last entry is at 4 p.m. (EDT). Tickets to the historic site can be purchased in the Visitor Centre.
